A hedonistic wine, darkly hued with wild blackberry and spicy cassis aromas and flavors that wrap around a subtle core of olive tapenade. Polished and expressive, with just the right amount of fresh acidity and firm tannins, the 2015 Baby Bear is a lively, complex beast. The use of 600L puncheons and extended aging make for a seamless, fully integrated wine.

Coming from the Columbia Valley and all Syrah, the 2015 Syrah Baby Bear spent 30 months in barrel prior to bottling. Saturated purple-colored (to the rim), with a stunning bouquet of spiced plums, smoked blueberries, ground pepper, and barbecued meat, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, sweet tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. As always, it’s impeccably made and one serious wine.
